Dr. Doyle recommends regular dental check-ups, including a visit to the dentist when your child has about eight teeth, and no later than their first birthday.
Preventive care such as exams, cleanings and fluoride treatment provide you and your child with peace of mind that decay isn't present and teeth are developing properly. Routine dental exams uncover problems that can be treated in the early stages, when damage is minimal and restorations may be small.
We generally start taking x-rays at age five, unless Dr. Doyle sees something that needs a picture sooner.
